Manner of Franz Bergman (Austrian, 1898-1963), circa early 20th century. Austrian cold painted figural bronze and pottery glazed inkwell, the oval and scalloped shaped dish molded to one end with the shell shaped inkwell and painted with sailing ships, sea gulls and landscape underglaze and mounted with a cold painted bronze perched bird on naturalistic modeled branches, the whole resting on three shell formed legs. Marked to the underside with impressed symbols. Approximate height 2.5", with bird 5.75", width 15.5", depth 8.75".
