* (American, 1854-1940) Wooded Landscape oil on canvas signed C. A. Fries (lower right) 16 x 12 7/8 inches. Property from the Collection of Kenneth Fugate and Carroll Heath, San Francisco, California This painting appears to be in nice, stable condition. Under ultra violet light, there is a section of inpainting visible in the lower edge, below signature. There is a dark green pigment used consistently in the tree branches in the upper right, as well as within the foreground and central foliage. This pigment appears to fluoresce under u.v. light.
