* (19th century) Portrait of a Lady oil on canvas 50 1/2 x 40 1/2 inches. Property from the Collection of Kenneth Fugate and Carroll Heath, San Francisco, California This painting has been relined. Under ultra violet light the varnish appears quite milky. There are visible spots of inpaint scattered throughout the background, most measuring under 1/2 inch with the largest being a cluster approximately 1.5 inches at its widest located within the background on the left side above her sleeve. There is another cluster of inpaint visible in the lower right corner. A spot of inpainting is visible in the center of her lower lip, and a few spots within her hair. Under natural light, the surface appears shiny with varnish and dusty. There are small spots where pigment has popped and the surface appears dry/unstable, within her bodice/sleeve above her hands.
