late 18th century and redecorated the rectangular top above a shaped slant-front opening to reveal fitted interior and tolled leather writing surface, the lower case fitted with three frieze drawers over a long drawer on cabriole legs, the whole frame later japanned with Chinoiserie vignettes. Height 37 x width 37 1/2 x depth 17 1/4 inches. There is moisture damage on interior. Minor cracks and loss of gilt. The drop top is slightly warped and has a minor crack approximately 8 inches long.
