$3,840
A 14K yellow gold signet ring with an image of Elvis Presley engraved on the top and "Keeper of the Flame" inscribed within. 16.7 grams, size 10. The ring was commissioned by Janelle McComb and several of Elvis’ closest friends immediately after Elvis’ death to signify that Vernon was now the "Keeper of the Flame." The eternal flame itself, which rests on top of Presley’s grave marker at Graceland, has an engraved plaque that reads “To Elvis in Memoriam. You gave yourself to each of us in some manner. You were wrapped in thoughtfulness and ties with love. May this flame reflect our never ending respect and love for you. May it serve as a constant reminder to each of us of your eternal presence.” Accompanied by a letter of authenticity dated September 7, 1986, from the estate of Vernon Presley; a copy of a July 9, 1979, appraisal from Memphis jeweler Harry Levitch for the estate of Vernon Presley; an article on the "Keeper of the Flame"; and a letter from the estate of Sid Doan, former owner of Sierra Sid’s Casino in Sparks, Nevada.
