$8,320
An Elvis Presley prescription pill bottle for “Sanilert. ” The bottle has a Prescription House label for 300mg Sanilert prescribed to Presley by Dr. Nichopoulos (Dr. Nick), dated September 18, 1974. The label instructs Presley to take one to three capsules three times a day to “keep sanity.” A prescription drug with this name does not appear to exist. It is unclear what medication Presley received in this bottle. Presley is known to have taken benzodiazepines and other sedatives to relax, presumably to escape the pressures put on him due to his heavy work schedule. The prescription bottle was left with Dr. Elias Ghanem, who treated Presley at his residence behind the Las Vegas Hilton in the mid-1970s, and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the estate of Dr. Ghanem.
