PELÉ 1973 CDE IV ARMY OLYMPIAD PARTICIPANT MEDALLION

A gold tone medallion presented to Pelé in 1973 by the Comissão de Desportos do Exército [Sports Committee of the Army] for participating in the IV Army Olympiad held in Recife, Brazil. Part of the Armed Forces of Brazil, the CDE has been organizing sporting events in Brazil since 1915. The front of the medallion features the CDE sword crest in a laurel wreath with lettering that reads "Comissão de Desportos do Exército."
