A brass tone plaque mounted to a shield-shaped wood base presented to Pelé on July 2, 1977, by the Los Angeles Aztecs of the North American Soccer League (NASL). The plaque thanks Pelé for the "Thrills He Has Provided The Los Angeles Aztecs and Fans/ 1975-76-77." On this date, Pelé's New York Cosmos team defeated the Aztecs in Los Angeles 4-1 during a regular season NASL match.
