A plaque given to Pelé in 1989 featuring the artistry of French sculptor and medallion designer Raymond Delamarre (1890-1986). The bronze relief depicts scenes from the history of the city of Paris, including the beheading of Saint Denis, and references to French kings, the French Revolution, and Napoleon. A Delamarre signature and the date, 1951, appear on the Viking's shield in the lower right of the piece. Accompanying the plaque is an additional bronze strip inscribed: "Paris A Pele" --1989--." The plaque and the dedication strip fit in a red and blue velvet-lined case. The outside of the case displays Paris' coat of arms. The inside of the case is marked "Arthus Bertand/ Paris."
