" The medal features Pelé's name engraved at the top front, with a low relief gold tone image of a football player below. The crest of São Paulo's Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF) appears at the bottom front of the medal in enamel. The back of the medal features the words "Os Melhores do Futebol Prêmio 'Carlos Joel Nelli' " [The Best Football Award "Carlos Joel Nelli"]. Carlos Joel Nelli was the director of the publication Sports Gazette in Brazil.
