A hand-carved wood walking stick presented to Pelé on his visit to Africa in 1969. At that time, Nigeria was in a civil war with Biafra. Reportedly, a 48-hour cease fire was called so that Santos could play a match against Nigeria. On January 26, 1969, Santos FC played Nigeria to a 2-2 draw. Pele scored two goals in the match. In Lagos, Nigeria, on February 4, 1969, Santos defeated Middle-West Africa 2-1. The Santos players were presented with gifts of carved walking sticks by Military Governor of the Midwest Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Ogbemudia just before the match kick-off.
