A 1978 New York Cosmos North American Soccer League (NASL) champions ring presented to Pelé. After retiring from the Cosmos on October 1, 1977, Pelé worked with the team part time in a promotional and advisory "staff" position. As a result, he was awarded this ring as a member of the Cosmos staff after the Cosmos won "Soccer Bowl '78" to became the 1978 NASL champions. The ring, made by Balfour, features an indented top centering a soccer ball set with a full-cut round diamond gauged at approximately 0.20ct. and graded I-J color and VS clarity, with applied lettering "COSMOS, NASL CHAMPIONS." One side of the ring shank reads "SOCCER BOWL '78, AUGUST 27, 1978" with the NASL championship trophy; the other side of the shank reads "PELE/STAFF" with the Cosmos logo. 19.4 grams, size 10 1/2. $8000-12000 £5600-8400 Categories: PELÉ
