A rectangular silver tone badge and attached blue ribbon worn by Pelé identifying him as a member of the Brazilian football team during the 1958 World Cup held in Solna, Sweden. The badge features a football player figure kicking a football into the air over the numbers "1958." Appearing above are the low relief letters "VM Sverige" [World Cup Sweden]. Those letters appear on top of the repeating words "Coupe Jules Rimet" [Jules Rimet Cup]. Printed on the blue ribbon are the words "Brasilien Spelare" [Brazil Player]. 1958 marked the first year that Brazil won the World Cup, and thus the Rimet trophy, and the introduction of Pelé, only 17 years old at the time, as an international figure. Pelé would score three goals (a "hat-trick") in the semi-final match versus France, and would go on to score two goals in the final against host nation Sweden to help Brazil win the 1958 World Cup title. Pelé continues to hold the record for youngest player, scorer, and winner of a World Cup final. $10000-15000 £7000-10500 Categories: PELÉ
