A Santos Dumont Medal of Merit presented to Pelé on July 9, 1970 by the Brazilian Air Force. The medal features a low relief image of Santos Dumont, with the logo of the Brazilian Air Force on the back. The medal is affixed to a purple and gold ribbon and is housed in a blue vinyl display box with two additional pins. The medal is accompanied by a certificate signed by Brazil's then-minister of aviation, and a second smaller Santos Dumont Medal of Merit affixed to a purple and gold ribbon.
