A crown presented to Pelé by the Brazilian government to commemorate the 1,000th goal of his career. The crown features a red felt lining at the base and on the interior. Surrounding the exterior lining are a series of metal laurels. The top of the crown features a metal football. Affixed to the top of the crown is a metal letter "M," which stands for "Milesmo," the Portuguese equivalent of "thousandth." Affixed to the center of the "M" on the top of the crown is a faceted glass jewel-like sculpture. The crown is accompanied by a copy of the book Pelé: My Life In Picture (Great Britain: Simon & Schuster UK Ltd., 2008), featuring Pelé wearing the crown on page 54 of the book. "This is another award, another relic, a crown that was given to me in 1969 by the Brazilian government. It symbolizes everything: my 1,000 goals and my championships. This is one of the first crowns that I was awarded, and it’s a beautiful ornament. There’s a stone, and it’s half golden and half silver. I was really glad to be honored once again by the Brazilian government. " Approximately 14 by 10 by 10 inches $20,000-30,000 £14,000-21,000 Categories: PELÉ
