A 1977 North American Soccer League (NASL) champions ring presented to Pelé for being a member of the 1977 NASL champion Cosmos. Previously called the "New York Cosmos," the Cosmos officially dropped "New York" from its team name before the 1977 season. The 10k gold ring features an emerald stone at its center surrounded by the words "NASL Champions 1977." On one shank of the ring is the Cosmos logo, and on the other is the NASL logo. Engraved on the underside of the ring is "Pelé" and "8-28-77." The ring is stamped on the interior with the manufacturer's name "Josten" and "10K." The Cosmos defeated the Seattle Sounders in "Soccer Bowl '77" on August 28, 1977, at Civic Stadium in Portland, Oregon, to claim the 1977 NASL championship. “Our team, the New York Cosmos of 1977, was doing really well, and everyone expected us to win the American soccer league. We won the league, and I was considered one of the best players of the tournament. They honored me with this ring for the New York Cosmos' championship.” - Pelé $30000-40000 £21000-28000 Categories: PELÉ
