Robert Draper (American, 1938-2000) landscape watercolor signed to lower right "Robert Draper"; labeled verso with title "Fillling the Water Barrel and More is Coming - South of Chinle, Arizona"; measures approximately 18-1/4" x 21-1/2" with gilded frame and has a sight image of approximately 10-1/2" x 14-1/2"; in Good overall condition with some spotting to framed. Born in Canyon del Muerto, New Mexico, Robert Draper is from the Navajo-Laguna Pueblo. Mainly self-taught, he has worked as an art instructor at the Chinle Boarding School and settled in Chinle. He paints realistic watercolor landscapes and genre of the Navajo Reservation. A favorite subject is Canyon de Chelly.
