Very fine, 18K yellow gold, keyless pocket lever chronometer with Guillaume balance, obtained First Class rating at Besançon Observatory timing contest. Four-body, “bassine”, polished, concealed hinge. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the chronometer trial details. White enamel with Arabic numerals and inner 24-hour numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial. Gold spade hands. Cal. 18 ½’’’, matte gilt, stamped with the Besançon viper’s head mark, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, anibal brass Guillaume balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed. Diam. 50 mm. Notes The punch mark in form of a viper's head is applied by the Observatory of Besançon on watches that were successful at the timing contest and received the Bulletin de Première classe.
