“Independent Dead Center Seconds” Louis Audemars, Brassus (Swiss), No. 11923, made for Le Roy & Fils, Horloger de la Marine, Palais-Royal, 13 et 15 Galerie Montpensier, Paris, 211 Regent Street, London, No. 50019. Made circa 1875. Very fine, 18K yellow gold, two-train, keyless pocket watch with independent dead seconds and double gold wheel-train. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", engine-turned, the back engraved with a monogram, bolt at 7 to lock the center seconds. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with radial Roman numerals and outer Arabic minutes and seconds ring. Gold "spade" hands. Notes The movement of the present watch is, as one would expect from Audemars, of very high quality and finish, particularly with the feature of the gold double wheel train.
