“Three Hammer Carillon” Cézar Racine, Le Locle, No. 2298. Made circa 1900. Very fine and rare 18K gold hunting-cased, keyless, double train, Grande Sonnerie carillon clockwatch with trip minute repeat and unusual micrometer regulator. Four body, massive, "bassine", polished, hinged gold cuvette cover. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring, subsidiary seconds. Gold "spade" hands. Notes Clockwatches with carillons are rare. On February 6, 1899, Cézar Racine filed for a patent improving Grande Sonnerie watches. It was quite successful and a number of companies took advantage of it.
