French, circa 1840. Fine eight-day going rosewood hour and half-hour striking, Louis Philippe Oeil de Boeuf. Octagonal rosewood with gilt brass bezel and loose-ring pendant, inlaid with lemonwood foliate decoration. Frosted silvered with Roman numerals. Blued-steel Breguet hands. Gilt brass circular, Mouvement de Paris, going barrel both on the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, short pendulum with spring suspension.
