Silver, oval case with cockerel finial, the back painted on enamel with a scene of Venus and Mars, mounted on a silver winged eagle above a domed base decorated with painted on enamel vignettes from classical mythology intersected by applied enameled masks, winged cherub scroll feet. Silver-gilt with black champleve radial Roman numerals, the center and outer border with polychrome champleve enamel scrolling foliage. Pierced gilt hands. 40 mm., matte gilt, full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three- arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental cock with steel endplate, rack and pinion regulator.
