OMEGA AVIATOR'S WATCH STAYBRITE Omega, No. 7748850, case No. 8782830, Ref. CK 6000. Sold in 1937 to the German market. Fine and very rare, round, large, Staybrite aviator's dustproof wristwatch with elapsed time indicator. Three-body, solid, polished, revolving bezel with dart hour markers, serrated edges, wide down turned lugs, snap-on caseback, dust cap. Black with painted luminous Arabic numerals, sunk guilloché subsidiary seconds dial, outer minute track with white Arabic five minute markers. Luminous skeleton hands. Cal. 40.6 S T2, rhodium-plated, 15 jewels, straightline lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Notes Dial, case and movement signed. DIAM. 44.5 mm. THICKNESS 10 mm. This is one of the rare examples of a watch sold by OMEGA to the German market between the two wars. Omega's policy during the war years was not to supply Germany with watches, as they were suppliers of the Allied forces.
