Ref. 4062, So-Called “Coin-Edge” Rolex, "Chronographe, Anti-magnétique", case No. 872030, Ref. 4062. Made in 1962. Very fine, oversized, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with square button chronograph, register, tachometer and telemeter. Accompanied by a spare gold bracelet. Three-body, solid, polished, coin-edge band, stepped bezel, thin teardrop lugs. Cream-colored, applied yellow gold baton indexes, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials, outer black tachometer graduated to 750 units/hour, blue telemeter scale, concentric fifths of a second scale with Arabic five second numerals. Yellow gold "alpha" hands. Notes Ref. 4062 is one of Rolex’s most successful non-Oyster chronographs, having appeared in the catalogue for 21 years from 1942-1963. It is also of interest that in period advertising this watch cost 35% more than a stainless steel Ref. 5036 Oyster chronocalendar.
