Very fine and rare, astronomic, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with full calendar and moon phases. Accompanied by a yellow gold Vacheron Constantin buckle and a Certificate of Authenticity. Three-body, solid, polished, sloped bezel, claw lugs. Silvered, brushed, with applied yellow gold Arabicnumerals and bâton indexes, subsidiary seconds dial, outer graduation for the days of themonth, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases. Yellow gold "bâton" hands. Cal. 12 1/2’’’ 485, rhodium plated, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement,beryllium balance with timing screws, adjusted to temperatures, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguetbalance-spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 35 mm. Thickness: 11 mm. Notes These are excellent examples of watches with the so-called “claw lugs” that were fashionable for almost two decades, from the beginning of the 1940s to the end of the 1950s. These lugs, which were featured on watches with various types of complications, were extremely surprising and effective.
