Fine and rare, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with triple calendar and two-tone gilt dial, with a yellow gold Vacheron Constantin buckle. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Two-body, polished, gadrooned band, claw lugs. Two-tone gilt with applied gold indexes and Arabicnumerals, subsidiary seconds, outer graduation for the days of the month, outermost minute track, apertures forthe days of the week and the months. Gold "bâton" hands. Cal. 12 1/2’’’ P 495/A, rhodium plated, "faussescôtes" decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, beryllium balance with timing screws, adjusted totemperature, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 35 mm. Thickness: 10.5 mm. Notes These are excellent examples of watches with the so-called “claw lugs” that were fashionable for almost two decades, from the beginning of the 1940s to the end of the 1950s. These lugs, which were featured on watches with various types of complications, were extremely surprising and effective.
