Elegant and rare square Art Deco 18K yellow gold and polychrome enamel, keyless dress watch. Accom-panied by fitted box, certificate, and a Certficate of Authenticity. Three-piece, square with canted corners, back with central polychrome enamel panel of a bathing lady in ablack lacquered frame, geometric black champlevé enamel decoration to the back, band, bezel and bow. Matte silvered with bold upright Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel “feuille”hands. Cal.R.A. 17’’’ 15/12 U.M., rhodium plated, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallicbalance with eight adjustments, flat balance spring, index regulator.Case punched Verger Frères, movement signed Vacheron & Constantin, dial signed La Esmeralda.Dim. 45 x 45 mm. Notes It is interesting to note that the certificate of the present watch bears the mark of Verger Frères in the lower right hand corner. This watch appeared in Antiquorum, Geneva’s, “Art of Vacheron Constantin” sale on November 13, 1994, lot 72.
