“Black Dial” Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 868722, case No. 686370, Ref. 1463. Made in 1954, sold on July 30, 1955. Very fine and extremely rare, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wrist-watch with round button chronograph, register and tachometer. Accompanied by an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe ribbed bracelet and a fitted box. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, screwed case back, dust protecting cap. Black with applied yellow gold indexes and Arabic numerals for 12 and 6, auxiliaryseconds and 30-minute register dials, outer tachometer graduation and concentric fifthsof a second and minutes tracks. Yellow gold “feuille” hands. Notes It is very rare to find a watch with this reference in such exceptional condition. In addition, its black dial makes it extremely desirable for collectors. This is a trademark of the Office of Geneva Control of Watches established on November 6, 1886. Paragraph 3 of the statutes states that the watches awarded the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark must "after examination prove to have a perfect mechanism to ensure regular and durable functioning".
