Very fine and rare, set of 3 water-resistant gentleman's wristwatches with 18K gold Omega buckles. No. 70/100, platinum with two-tone silver dial; No. 70/1894, 18K pink gold with two-tone champagne dial; No. 70/100, 18K yellow gold with champagne and multi-colored cloisonné enamel dial. Accompanied by a fitted box. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, flat bezel, straight lugs, transparent case back. With applied radial Roman numerals and indexes, subsidiary seconds dials. Gold "feuille" hands (yellow gold watch with center-seconds). Cal. 269, copper-colored, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, selfcompensating flat balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 35 mm. Thickness 10 mm. Notes "Reverso.” The history of the "Reverso" begins in 1930 in India. Cesar de Trey, a Swiss traveler, conceived the idea of a watch that could be turned over to protect its dial and crystal from the dangers common watches faced on the dusty polo fields in the then British colony. Back in Switzerland, he approached the LeCoultre company in Le Sentier with his ideas. The watch case was developed by the Jaeger company in France, who asked French designer and engineer René-Alfred Chauvet to prepare the drawings for its production. Today
