“Chronomètre Royal” Vacheron & Constantin, “Chronomètre Royal” Genève, No. 368576. Made circa 1930. A rare and unusual helm-shaped, brass desk clock on a wooden mount. Circular brass shaped as a helm, the top handle used as the winder, held in the wooden base by 2 screws. Silver with painted black arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, blued steel “Epée” hands. Cal. 20’’’, gilt brass, “fausses côtes” decoration, 8 jewels’ wolf-tooth winding, bimetallic compensation balance, swan neck micrometric regulator. Movement signed, case numbered. Width 70 mm.
