“Royal Blue” Duval a Rouen, No. 783. Made circa 1775. Very fine and rare, small, dumb quarter repeating 18K gold, enamel and rose diamond set lady’s pendant watch. Two-body, “Louis XV”, diamond set bezel with white, red and blue foliate enamel border, the back cover with border en suite and decorated with an annular panel of rich blue guilloché enamel edged by white enamel dots and centered by a stylized foliate motif, rose diamond-set thumb-piece, pendant and bow. White enamel, slightly later, specially made, with Arabic numerals and outer bâton minute markers. Rose diamond-set hands. 25 mm., frosted gilt full-plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, pierced foliate chased balance cock spelling the name DUVAL, silvered regulation dial, repeating on the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial plate and movement signed. Case with Rouen marks for 1774 –80. Diam. 33 mm.
