Stainless Steel, ref. 1463 “Two–Tone Dial” Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 867970, case No. 660165, Ref. 1463. Made in 1950, sold on August 20, 1951. Very fine and extremely rare, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with two-tone dial, round button chronograph, register, tachometer and stainless steel Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, inclined and stepped bezel, screwed-down case back, dust protecting cap, concave lugs. Two-tone deep silver with applied white gold indexes and radial Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials, outer tachymeter scale, base 1000, concentric minutes and fifths of a second scales, Arabic five second numerals. White gold "feuille" hands. Notes Ref. 1463 Production of this reference started in 1940. Only a few examples were made in stainless steel. In addition, its two-tone dial makes it extremely desirable for collectors. The first models of the Ref. 1463 made in the 1940s had bezels which continued to the band, this changed in the early 1950s to a stepped bezel as in the present watch.
