“Monsieur Dragly” Breguet, No. 1865, case No. 2696, Répétition de Première Classe, sold to Monsieur Moreau for Monsieur Dragly on June 12th, 1809, for 2400 Francs. Very fine, 18K gold dumb quarter-repeating pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement. Accompanied by a 1991 Breguet Certificate. Four-body, “Empire”, by Tavernier, polished bezel, reeded band, engine turned back. Hinged gold cuvette. Gold, engine turned with polished chapter ring, radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute markers, eccentric subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. 49 mm (22’’)., frosted gilt, standing barrel, 13 jewels, Breguet overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm flat rim balance, top pivot with pare-chute, flat blued steel balance spring, bimetallic compensation curb on the index regulator, repeating the hours and quarters with a massive polished steel hammer activated by a pulland- twist action plunger in the pendant. Dial and cuvette signed, case with Tavernier’s Mastermark, movement numbered. Diam. 56 mm. Notes Lazare Moreau was in charge of the Maison de Russie (the Breguet outlet in Russia, from 1808 to 1811.
