“Calm Harbour” Probably Geneva. Made for the Spanish market, circa 1840. Fine 18K gold and painted on enamel slim pocket watch. Four-body, cast and chased with shells, flowers and scrolls, the back cover with a finely painted on enamel scene of a mountainous harbour-side view with a ship in full sail visible through a ruined arch in the foreground. Hinged foliate engraved cuvette with enamelled technical details. Silver, engine-turned, painted radial Roman numerals and outer minute indexes. Gold moon hands. 35 mm. (15,5’’’), frosted gilt, Lépine calibre, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Diam. 41 mm.
