Swiss. Made circa 1800. Very fine gilt bronze quarter striking and repeating Pendule d'Officier with alarm. Gilt bronze, stiff-leaf stepped base with paw feet, engine-turned bezel, the pediment and side panels with applied oak-leaf and ribbon decoration, hinged foliate handle at the top, pierced back door for sound emission. White enamel with Dauphine numerals, outer minute track and five minute markers. Blued steel “ovoid” hands. Circular 117 mm, gilt brass with cylindrical pillars, three spring barrels, large platfrorm straight line lever escapement, brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass plain continental cock with polished steel end-piece, index regulator, striking and repeating of Neuchâtel type on two bells with the striking and repeating works fitted on the back plate, cord release for repeating at will; pull wound alarm. Dim. 24 x 14.5 x 9 cm.
