Very fine and rare, 18K gold hunting-cased keyless two-train Grande et Petite Sonnerie clockwatch with trip quarter repeat. Accompanied by a 22K gold long chain with fancy links. Four-body, “bassine”, by Alfred Stram (AS), profusely chased and engraved with flowers, scrolls and geometric patterns. Hinged gold cuvette. Gold with painted radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute markers, subsidiary seconds, florally engraved centre. Blued steel “fleur-de-lys” hands. 38 mm, (17’’’), frosted gilt, 35 jewels, tandem winding, gold wheel train, calibrated and counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating on gongs at the quarters or at will activated by a slide in the band, silence/petite sonnerie/grande sonnerie levers in the bezel.
