So-called "Paul Newman" Rolex Cosmograph "Daytona", Ref. 6262, with steel bezel. Made in 1970. Very fine and rare water-resistant, stainless steel, gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers and tachometer with a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet with deployant clasp. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, tachometer graduation on the bezel to 200 units per hour. Bi-color matte black and silver with black and tritium indexes, guilloche silvered auxiliary dials for the seconds, the 12 hour and 30 minute registers. Tritium-coated steel "bâton" hands. Notes Ref. 6262-6263. Produced in stainless steel, 14K and 18K gold, the first examples of this Ref. were commercialized in 1970, and appeared in the catalogues from 1971 to 1987.
