"First Generation Bubbleback" Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, case No. 29546. Made circa 1933. Very fine, tonneau-shaped, self-winding, water-resistant, 9K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch. Three-body, polished, screwed-down case back and crown, engraved case back: “R.B. Morgan, ESQ., from the Teachers of Croydon, 1935”. Matte silver with applied Arabic numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds dial. Black "bâton" hands. Notes This watch is one of the earliest known “Bubblebacks”. Robert B. Morgan was First Education Officer at Croydon School south of London, today the internationally renowned Croydon College for higher education in business, finance, arts and engineering.
