Norris, Liverpool, No. 155. Made circa 1840. Fine, mahogany and brass, two-day marine chronometer with “Z” balance and the original ratchet key. Three-tier, the top lid opening for the glazed viewing port, brass fittings and gimbals, screwed-down bezel. Silvered with champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds and power reserve dials. Blued steel Breguet hands.
