Very fine and very rare, dumb quarter-repeating pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement and eccentric seconds. Accompanied by a Breguet ratchet key and short chain. Four-body, “Empire” by Tavernier, engine turned, polished bezel and border, reeded band. Hinged gold cuvette. Gold, engine turned, polished chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with dot markers, eccentric subsidiary seconds between 3 and 4. Blued steel Breguet hands. 48 mm., frosted gilt, souscription calibre, standing barrel, jeweled train, overhanging ruby cylinder escapement with polished steel escape wheel, three-arm brass balance, the top pivot with pare-chute, flat blued steel balance spring, bimetallic temperature compensation curb fitted to the index regulator, repeating with a single hammer on the side of the case activated by a pull-andtwist piston in the pendant. Dial and cuvette signed. Case with Tavernier’s mark. Diam. 55 mm.
