Very fine and very rare, 18K gold hunting-cased pocket watch with Earnshaw’s spring detent escapement and bimetallic balance. Three-body, polished back with engraving “AB, 1819”, fixed gold cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, large subsidiary seconds. Gold "spade" hands. 45 mm., gilt, full-plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, maintaining power, Earnshaw’s spring detent escapement, escape and first wheels jeweled with endstones in screwed chatons, inverted under-sprung Earnshaw-type bimetallic cut compensation balance with four brass timing screws, diamond endstone, chased and engraved single footed cock, free-sprung flat balance spring.
