Ref. 5018, So-called "Bombay" Rolex, “Oyster Perpetual, Officially certified Chronometer”, Ref. 5018. Case No. 608519. Made in 1948. Very fine and rare, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch. Two-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, shaped lugs. Two-tone matte silver with applied dot and radial Roman hours, inner seconds track. Steel “feuille” hands. Notes Called “Bombay” by collectors due to the shape of their lugs, references 5016 and 5018 differ in the type of seconds indication, 5016 having subsidiary seconds and 5018 center seconds.
