Very fine and rare, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, anti-reflective black bezel with tachometer and a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, tachometer graduation on the bezel to 200 units per hour. Bi-colored off-white and black with luminous tipped square steel indexes, outer red minute/seconds divisions on a black chapter ring, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers. Luminous steel "bâton" hands. Cal. 722-1, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, free-sprung monometallic balance adjusted to 3 positions, shockabsorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Notes Reference 6241 appeared in the Rolex catalogue in 1969 and 1970. The “Exotic’ dial, the so-called “Paul Newman” only appeared in the Rolex catalogue during these years.
