Ref. 3361, Yellow Gold “Aerodynamic” Rolex, "Prince, Officially Certified Chronometer”, Ref. 3361. Case No. 899568. Made in 1952. This reference was launched at the 1939 Swiss National Exhibition in Zurich. Very fine and rare, rectangular curved, asymmetrical, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with yellow gold Rolex buckle. Accompanied by the original fitted box and guarantee (now void). Two-body, shaped, solid, polished, bearing a vacant cartouche on the front. Silvered with applied yellow gold dart and pyramidal indexes, inner minute/seconds divisions. Yellow gold "dauphine" hands. Notes Reference 3361, the asymmetrical Rolex Prince “Aerodynamic”, bears a cartouche in relief in which a monogram can be engraved if desired. When the watch is examined in profile, the difference in thickness between the top and of the bottom of the case becomes apparent. The present model has always been made in gold, never in stainless steel. It is called "Aerodynamic" in period advertising. The calibre 310, was produced between 1932 and 1938 and was of course also used in the late Prince models, even in the 1950s. This watch is illustrated in “Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches”, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 45.
