Ref. 4062. So-called “Steel and Gold Coin-Edge” Rolex, “Chronographe, Antimagnétique", Ref. 4062. Case No. 569341. Made in 1946. Very fine, oversized, 18K pink gold and stainless steel wristwatch with square button chronograph, register, tachometer, telemeter and the original Rolex leather strap and pink gold-plated buckle. Three-body, polished, pink gold coin-edge band and thin teardrop lugs, stainless steel inclined bezel and snap-on back. Satiné silver, applied pink gold dot indexes and Arabic 6 and 12, outer minute/seconds divisions with Arabic five minutes/ seconds, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials, outer tachometer and telemeter scales. Pink gold "épée" hands. Notes Reference 4062 is one of Rolex’s most successful non-Oyster chronographs, having appeared in the catalogue for 21 years, from 1942-1963. It is also of interest that in period advertising this watch cost 35% more than a stainless steel reference 5036 Oyster chrono-calendar. This reference was produced in 18K yellow gold and 18K pink gold, stainless steel and steel and gold.
