Ref. 2919 “Half-Hooded Lugs” Rolex, “Anti Magnetic” Ref. 2919. Case No.031753. Made in 1937. Very fine and extremely rare, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with half-hooded lugs, olive button chronograph, register, tachometer and stainless steel Rolex buckle. Three-body, brushed, flat bezel, half-hooded concave lugs, snap-on case back with monogram ”EB”. Pink with baton hours, Arabic 6 and 12, outer minute/seconds divisions, outermost telemeter and tachometer, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials. Blued steel “feuille” hands. Notes Reference 2919 was made in a very small series in 1937 and was available in stainless steel or 18K gold. To the best of our knowledge this is the first example of a reference 2919 to have appeared at an international auction.
