Ref. 3529 Stainless Steel “Antimagnetic” Rolex "Antimagnetic", Ref. 3529. Case No. 040311. Made in 1939. Very fine and extremely rare, square, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with square button chronograph, register, tachometer and a stainless steel Rolex buckle. Two-body, polished and brushed, sharp angles, domed crystal, lapidated straight lugs. Brushed silver with painted baton indexes and Roman quarter hour numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials, concentric, the 1/5th second track at the center, blue “snail” tachometric scale with Arabic numerals. Blued steel "baton" hands. Notes Reference 3529 was produced in very few examples from 1939 to 1942 in stainless steel as well as in 18K pink and yellow gold. At the time, the 10 1/2’’’ chronograph was the smallest chronograph in the world. It is very rare to find an example in such good original condition. This watch is illustrated in “Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches”, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 403.
