Ref. 6610, "Explorer" Rolex, “Oyster Perpetual Explorer, Officially Certified Chronometer”, Ref. 6610. Case No. 360388. Made in 1958. Fine and rare, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with a stainless steel Rolex buckle. Three-body, polished and brushed, screweddown case back and crown, inclined bezel. Black with luminous Arabic numerals and baton indexes, silvered outer minute/seconds track. Luminous "skeleton" hands. Cal. 1030, rhodium-plated, 25 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness 13 mm. Notes Reference 6610 was produced from the mid 1950s to 1960. The caliber 1030 was produced between 1950 and 1957 and continued to be found in watches for some years later.
