Ref. 3548 Pink Gold “Impero” Rolex, “Oyster Perpetual, Officially Certified Chronometer”, Ref. 3548. Case No. 46366. Made in 1941. Fine and rare, water-resistant, center seconds, self-winding, 18K pink gold gentleman’s wristwatch with an 18K gold Rolex buckle. Two-body, "Empire", polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, straight lapidated lugs. Rose with luminous Dauphine numerals and baton indexes, outer seconds track with fifths of a second divisions and Arabic five second numerals. Luminous blued steel “feuille” hands. Cal. 620, 9 3/4’’’, rhodium-plated, 19 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Superbalance adjusted to six positions, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 32 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Notes Reference 3548 and 3716 are identical with the exception that the 3716 has subsidiary seconds and the 3548 has center seconds. In period advertisements, this watch is called “Impero”. The caliber 620 was created in 1936 and was in regular production between 1940 and 1951.
