“Silver Pair Cased” John Moore, London. Made circa 1700. Fine, silver pair-cased pocket watch with a 19th Century W.J. Moore watch paper. Outer: two-body, polished, square hinge; inner: two-body, "bassine", with deep back, polished. Silver, champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic numerals on polished cartouches, center chased with scrolling and a mask. Blued steel "tulip and poker" hands. 42 mm., hinged, gilt brass full plate with divided vase pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, single-footed cock with straight line base and streamers engaved with two masks.
